The new funding represents the foundation’s largest number of research awards in a single year.

California will phase out paraquat after all manufacturers voluntarily canceled their registrations, ending the state’s use of the powerful herbicide that is already banned in more than 60 countries. State regulators found paraquat exposure may be tied to Parkinson’s disease.
