Celebrate Spring New York is the Parkinson’s Foundation’s premier fundraising event which brings together people living with Parkinson’s and their families, leaders in Parkinson’s care and research, and individual and corporate supporters for an evening of food, fun, cocktails, and a live auction.

Parkinson's Foundation Launches: The PD Solo Network - Living Alone While Living with PD

There are two sessions available each week: You are welcome to choose one or attend both.
– 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET
– 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET

What is the PD Solo Network: 

A virtual network for people living with Parkinson's disease (PD) who live alone, by choice or circumstance. The purpose of this group is to create a community of support for those living without a care partner. People living with PD are the experts about what challenges, changes and accommodations are needed on a daily basis. This network will provide a place to share ideas, concerns, brainstorm strategies, suggestions, resources & to build relationships.

The Parkinson's Foundation is providing the initial funding and support to kick start this network. It will most likely become a very strong network that will operate independently although the Parkinson's Foundation will always be an entity of support & information for the participants. The Foundation will provide resources to launch and maintain the network for a one-year period. 

Phase One will be 4 consecutive weeks via Zoom and will continue to meet thereafter via Zoom at a frequency to be determined by the participants through February 2023.

Phase One- 2023
Wednesdays, February 1, 8, 15, 22

Meeting time- 1 p.m. ET - 2:30 p.m. ET and /or 7:30 p.m. ET - 9 p.m ET

APDA Minnesota Chapter, Parkinson's Foundation, and the Udall Center at the University of Minnesota are the three leading organizations for Parkinson's disease advocacy in Minnesota. We are excited to invite you to the annual Spring Parkinson's Symposium on April 11, 2023. Attend in-person or online.

This event will feature a free vendor exhibit, lunch, and educational presentations about living well with Parkinson's disease. We will also have a panel discussion highlighting the stories and experiences of people with PD.

Wellness Wednesdays: Mental Wellness Series

Although Parkinson’s disease (PD) is known as a movement disorder, for many people living with PD, mood disturbances, such as depression, anxiety and apathy, are some of the most troublesome symptoms. Recognizing mood changes and deciding when it’s time to seek help are the first steps to building your mental health team. An important part of this process is finding and connecting with the right specialists.

Join us to learn how others are managing mental health challenges and building their mental health team during this candid, virtual conversation.

Join health psychologist, Taylor Rush, PhD, as she explores different dimensions of a mindfulness practice. She will share ways to ground and settle the mind and body. These mindfulness techniques can offer moments of respite and clarity that can be useful throughout your week. Mindfulness of breath is one of the cornerstones of meditation practice. In this session we will review the benefits of bringing awareness to the breath in relation to managing symptoms of Parkinson’s and offer a guided meditation on mindfulness of the breath.
