The Parkinson’s Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with Parkinson’s disease by enhancing care and advancing research toward a cure. We harness the energy, experience, and passion of the global Parkinson’s community to drive our mission forward.
Community Partners in Parkinson’s Care is a program designed to educate and empower care staff in providing high-quality care to individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD) in various care settings, including skilled nursing homes, assisted living communities, in-patient rehabilitation centers & home care/hospice agencies.
Trainers are subject matter experts in Parkinson’s care in senior living communities and home care agencies. This position encompasses three roles: educator, mentor, and brand ambassador for the Community Partners in Parkinson’s Care program.
We are seeking four (4) Trainers who will share the responsibilities outlined below while collectively working within the 20-hour/month time commitment. Trainers will start in January 2026 onboarding and shadowing current National Co-Directors up through April 2026. From May to December 2026 start taking over all Key Responsibilities over a time period where the Program Founders train, observe and give feedback for maximum outcomes and results. By December 2026 be fully trained up to oversee the training program.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Educator
- Co-lead 3 or 4 virtual one day Site Champion Trainings per year using the Community Partners curriculum.
- Develop topics with team and take turns with your co-trainers moderating Partner Education Talks throughout the year.
- Facilitate and plan bi-annual Site Champion virtual calls to support continued learning.
- Join monthly Professional Education department meetings (60 – 90 minutes).
- Deliver content in a professional and engaging manner.
Mentor
- Steward 30 to 40 Partners in an ongoing process supporting them as needed.
- Engage with Partners at least three time a year via virtual meetings and/or email.
- Help design surveys & review outcome measures with team, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improving the program and ensuring optimal care.
- Utilize the Partner Portal for communications and record-keeping.
- Contribute insights and recommendations for Community Partner email communications.
Brand Ambassador
- Represent the Community Partners in Parkinson’s Care program at 1-2 annual conferences as an exhibitor and/or presenter.
- Develop and deliver unified presentations for various professional events as determined by the Professional Education department.
- Support outreach efforts by responding to inquiries and fulfilling informal presentation requests as needed.
- Participate in Community Partner team calls (2x/month).
As an evolving program, Community Partners in Parkinson’s Care continuously adapts to meet industry needs. Partner Guides will be integral in shaping program growth and strategic priorities.
Skills and Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in Parkinson’s care.
- Awareness and familiarity of senior living communities and/or home care agencies a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure quality work output.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
- Strong collaborative and teamwork skills.
- Ability to travel to 1-2 conferences per year.
- Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
Schedule & Compensation
- 5 hours per week (20 hours/month)
- $50 per hour
- Site Champion Training Daily Rate: $750 per day
Travel Requirements
- Some travel is required for conferences and presentations. All conference and travel expenses covered by the Parkinson’s Foundation.
