Staying active, engaged and involved is important for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), their care partners and families. We encourage you to find local programs and services in your area that offer the opportunity to learn, connect, and share experiences. We have compiled a list below to help with your search.
The PD Gladiators Fitness Network is comprised of more than 80 weekly PD-specific exercise classes (in more than 30 locations, including 17 metro Atlanta YMCA branches) that help people with Parkinson’s design a personal exercise program that is effective, fun and sustainable. All network instructors have received PD-specific training. As always, please consult with your physician before beginning any new exercise program.
In addition to managing the PD Gladiators Fitness Network, Parkinson's Foundation Georgia hosts educational programs throughout the region. Programs are free and include presentations, refreshments and expert speakers.
Parkinson's Foundation Georgia has a blog of informational articles on living well with Parkinson's - written by local experts, care partners and those living with PD.
