Community Development Manager
Reports to: AVP, Fundraising Events
Position Status: Full Time, Exempt
Location: Remote (preference for applicants from New Jersey, Texas, Rocky Mountains area)
Description
This self-starting individual will work collaboratively with our field fundraising staff, regional leadership, national walk team, and other key stakeholders to develop new markets for the Parkinson’s Foundation fundraising walk, Moving Day. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by building new relationships, driving chapter development and delivering successful fundraising events.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Research and build strategy in new markets the increase brand visibility for the Parkinson’s Foundation.
- Identify key stakeholders and community leaders to build a first-year event committee.
- Recruit new participants and constituents for fundraising events.
- Oversee logistical details for events, including vendor partnerships, event permits, contracts, invoicing, and expense management.
- Collaborate with event participants, sponsors, and community partners to maximize participation and achieve revenue goals.
- Provide customer service to constituents and event participants, including support for registration, coaching, and stewardship.
- Create and solicit new sponsorship and partnership opportunities with pharmaceutical companies, corporations, and media prospects.
- Oversee recruitment of event day volunteers for fundraising events.
- Collaborate with chapter team members to drive performance.
Experience/Skills Required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant peer-to-peer fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Plus: experience building new fundraising events from afar
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound judgments.
- Superior ability to influence and deliver results in a remote role.
- Excellent record keeping
- Self-motivated, results-oriented leader with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to learn and strive for excellence.
- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time.
- Ability to travel as needed, with reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license. Air travel will be expected occasionally.
- Capacity to work evenings and weekends as needed, while adhering to core business hours.

Compensation
Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
