NEW YORK & MIAMI — MAY 8, 2019 — The Parkinson’s Foundation announced the appointment of Ponder Harrison, senior advisor at Comvest Partners and Franklin Resources’ Industrial Technology Fund, to its board of directors.

NEW YORK & MIAMI – April 22, 2019 – The Parkinson’s Foundation today announced the recipients of more than $1.5 million in community grants for Parkinson’s programs. Community grants support local health, wellness and educational programs that address unmet needs in the Parkinson’s disease (PD) community.   

MIAMI & NEW YORK — March 25, 2019 — Recognizing long-standing gender disparities in Parkinson’s research and care, the Parkinson’s Foundation Women and Parkinson’s Initiative has created the first patient-centered action agenda to maximize quality of life for women with Parkinson’s disease.

NEW YORK & MIAMI — February 25, 2019 — The Parkinson’s Foundation today announced the first members of its Aware in Care Ambassador Pilot Program, a volunteer group organized to help distribute Aware in Care kits that serve to bolster best practices in treating patients with Parkinson’s disease to both patients and healthcare providers.

NEW YORK & MIAMI, January 24, 2019—A Parkinson’s Foundation study recently published in the scientific journal, npj Parkinson’s Disease, found that a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease (PD) was associated with greater healthcare use and spending.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved INBRIJA™, a levodopa inhalation powder developed by Acorda Therapeutics, as a treatment for “off” periods in people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) who are treated with carbidopa/levodopa.

MIAMI & NEW YORK — NOVEMBER 7, 2018 —The Parkinson’s Foundation hosted the first national forum for women with Parkinson’s disease (PD) on October 19 at Baylor College of Medicine, a Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence, in Houston, TX.

NEW YORK & MIAMI — November 1, 2018 — The Parkinson’s Foundation is proud to announce that it is requesting applications for community grants to be awarded nationwide for health, wellness and education programs that address unmet needs in the Parkinson’s disease (PD) community. In 2019, the Parkinson’s Foundation will award $1.2 million in community grants.
