Parkinson's Walk for a Cure - Community Walk

The annual Parkinson's Walk for a Cure is a public non-profit event held the fourth Saturday in April. The event's purpose is to raise funds to research a cure for Parkinson's Disease (PD) and to assist those families whose loved ones have been diagnosed with PD. We honor all of our champions who are living with this devastating disease while partnering with businesses, organizations and agencies to raise community awareness about PD.

Our goal is simple: to assist the families of Pickaway County who have been impacted by the devastating effect of PD with financial, material, emotional, and spiritual care and support. All assistance is focused on the patient and caregiver. Through a huge community partnership and the ongoing support of walk participants and community sponsors, a variety of programs have been established. These programs include: financial assistance for those living with PD, their caregiver(s) and family, assistive devices for those living with PD, ongoing educational forums to increase community awareness, availability of nationally recognized exercise programs specifically designed for those living with PD, and caregiver support groups.

All proceeds from the Parkinson's Walk for a Cure are shared between the local Berger Health Foundation and The Parkinson Foundation for national research. We thank everyone for their involvement and support as we walk together as a community, seeking to provide hope, encouragement and relief for others.
