2025

Annual Report

Message from the CEO & President

2025 was a pivotal year for those impacted by Parkinson's disease (PD) — and your support made it possible.

We welcomed two leaders who will shape the future of Parkinson’s care and advocacy. Sneha Mantri, MD, MDS, is our first Chief Medical Officer, who brings frontline expertise to help people with Parkinson’s receive better care. Andi Lipstein Fristedt is our first Chief Strategy and Policy Officer who brings us into the policy arena — advancing advocacy efforts that protect Parkinson’s research and access to care at the federal and state levels

Our landmark genetics study PD GENEration: Powered by the Parkinson’s Foundation, surpassed 30,000 participants, expanding access to genetic testing and counseling while accelerating the path to clinical trials and new treatments.

Momentum also surged in the Parkinson’s Virtual Biotech. Two new drugs are now entering clinical trials — proof that early, donor-powered investment speeds innovation.

Thank you for fueling progress in 2025. Thank you to the scientists, researchers, clinicians and supporters like you who help drive goals to action. Together, we move closer to a future without Parkinson’s.

John L. Lehr
Chief Executive Officer & President

In a year when federal funding for disease research sharply declined, we significantly increased our investment in Parkinson’s research — awarding more than $4.3 million across 44 research grants. We are proud to fund scientists driving the development of new therapies, treatments, and ultimately a cure for the 10 million people worldwide living with PD.

Care in Action

“As a physician and a person living with Parkinson’s, I know time is a precious and nonrenewable resource. Intentional use of time can make an unproductive or frustrating visit into a success. The Parkinson’s Foundation has powerful resources that can help people with PD adapt your care to your needs over time.”

Hope in Action:
Donors Making A Difference

“My father found the Parkinson’s Foundation years ago and we decided to do what we could, to do something that was close to our family.” – Mike
“We decided to do some philanthropy as a family and it has been a fun thing to do. Somebody once told me you should give money to things that either make you mad or sad, and Parkinson’s ticks both of those boxes.” – Bryan
“The Parkinson’s Foundation is a great steward of the funds they receive. Every dollar spent goes to great use and will benefit quality of life for people with Parkinson’s and hopefully lead to a cure.” – Jill
