In 2020, the Parkinson’s Foundation will award $1.5 million in community grants. “The Parkinson’s Foundation community grants program allows us to expand our reach to support even more PD communities across the country,” said John Lehr, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Parkinson’s Foundation. “We’re incredibly proud to grant $1.5 million to fund critical programs in the diverse and underserved, newly diagnosed and mental health areas.” As of November 4, community grants applications can be submitted electronically at [Parkinson.org/CommunityGrants](https://www.parkinson.org/resources-support/community-grants). Applications for this competitive grant opportunity are due January 31, 2020. The 2020 grant cycle will focus on: - Services for diverse and underserved populations - Initiatives that reach the newly diagnosed - Programs that address mental health and Parkinson’s disease “The support from the Parkinson’s Foundation has made a profound difference for people with PD and their care partners,” said Dan Novak, member of the Community Grant Advisory Committee. “The grants allow us to offer specialized programs and raise awareness in the Parkinson's community.” Community grants range from $5,000 to $25,000 per grant application. Award decisions will be announced in June 2020 and the grant funding period will occur from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. Applications will be limited to non-profit and other tax-exempt organizations or healthcare facilities as outlined in the request for applications. Applicants may contact to verify eligibility. Since 2011, the Parkinson's Foundation has funded more than 338 community-based programs that make life better for people living with PD and their caregivers, totaling nearly $3.7 million.
