Reports to: Karson Terry, Development Manager, Carolinas Chapter
Position Status: Paid - $15 per hour
Position Timeline: August 2022 - May 2023, 15 hours per week including weekends
Location: Remote/Prefer Columbia, SC Area


The Parkinson's Foundation makes life better for people with Parkinson’s disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. In everything we do, we build on the energy, experience, and passion of our global Parkinson's community.

The Carolinas Chapter Intern will work directly with our team, supporting staff and volunteer leadership on all logistical work related to Parkinson’s Foundation events, programs, and resources. This position is remote/work from home with occasional travel and attendance at Foundation events in the Carolinas Chapter. This position is ideal for students with an interest in event planning and nonprofit management.


  • Assist with logistics for and attend Moving Day charity walks in the Carolinas. In partnership with a volunteer, oversee the ‘Exhibit’ Resource tent at all Moving Days.
    • Moving Day NC Triangle - Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 (travel to include Friday, Nov. 4, 2022)
    • Moving Day Charleston - Saturday, April 29, 2023 (travel to include Friday, April 28, 2023)
    • Moving Day Winston-Salem - Saturday, May 6, 2023 (travel to include Friday, May 5, 2023)
  • Assist with logistics for Parkinson’s Revolution in February 2023 in Charlotte, NC
  • Attend all MD and Revolution Planning Meetings (remotely)
  • Oversee assembly and mailing of Newly Diagnosed Kits
  • Oversee social media posts to promote Carolinas Chapter events and programs
  • Oversee social media post to highlight volunteers
  • Oversee printing of all marketing materials for Carolinas Chapter events
  • Assist staff with mailings
  • Assist staff with writing ‘thank you’ notes
  • Perform other internship-related duties as assigned

Experience/Skills Required

  • Current college undergraduate student (Junior or Senior) or graduate student
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher
  • Interest in the non-profit sector
  • Access to computer, phone, and internet
  • Prior work or intern experience a plus
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Travel is required
