The Edmond J. Safra National Parkinson's Wellness Initiative

Stay fit. Build your care network. Connect, learn and socialize at community events. These are the goals of the Edmond J. Safra National Parkinson's Wellness Initiative.

This new program is a partnership between medical professionals and the Parkinson's community to create a network of support at Jewish Community Centers (JCCs) around the country dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with Parkinson's.

The program is open to all people affected by Parkinson's. You do not have to be Jewish to participate.

JCCs will collaborate with Parkinson's Foundation Centers of Excellence to deliver services that will keep those impacted by Parkinson's – people with the disease as well as their families and friends – active, connected and empowered:

  • Three Parkinson's-specific fitness classes per week;
  • A care partner support group; and
  • Seasonal educational events.

"When I was first diagnosed, I didn't know anyone with Parkinson's. I thought I was the only one. Then, I came to this program and realized that there are many others going through what I'm going through. I'm not alone."
— Support group participant

The national program is based on the ground-breaking Edmond J. Safra Parkinson's Wellness Program-NYC, which launched in 2007 to rave reviews in the local Parkinson's community.

Be part of the national movement!
