If you have Parkinson's disease, you may have twice the risk of developing the deadly skin cancer melanoma. Melanoma, with 70,000 new cases diagnosed each year in the United States, is the most dangerous type of skin cancer. NPF recommends that every person with Parkinson's wear sunscreen and receive an annual screening by a dermatologist for melanoma.
