Chicago White Sox player Gordon Beckham launched Out of the Park for Parkinson’s to raise awareness and support to help end Parkinson’s disease. Since 2010, Out of the Park has raised over $120,000 for the National Parkinson Foundation. Beating Parkinson’s is an important, personal cause for Gordon; his grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson’s over 10 years ago. Gordon is committed to ending the suffering caused by Parkinson’s and hopes to utilize his platform as a major league baseball player to raise awareness and funds to fight this disease.
