2012 Parkinson's Superstars

John Crawford
He has encouraged me and supported me in my pursuit of photography and we have enjoyed many activities & trips together. He has been an invaluable source of information about the disease including my membership in 23andme.

Jo Rosen
She is a wealth of information, compassion, positive, sensitive, current, and caring. Her talks and guidance have proved to be invaluable to me and so so many others as we journey through the murky waters of trying to understand what is happening to our bodies.

Judy Cooper
Judy Cooper has dedicated many hours to improving the lives of those with Parkinsons. For countless years, she has provided exercise classes in multiple locations throughout the Washington DC region specifically for Parkinson's patients.

Kathy Smith
She has taken a very positive attitude in her life. She is an active member in HAPS, participating in their dance classes, going to swimming, and being a part of their meetings. She has raised awareness about Parkinson's with her friends, co-workers, etc.

Kevin Boekhoff
Kevin has turned to creative writing as both an occupation and a hobby.  This creative outlet, he has discovered, is therapeutic in a multitude of ways and fits well into the life of unpredictability faced by a person with Parkinson's.

Kevin Burkart
Through the work of Perfect Jumps, Kevin has been able to grow a commendable team of volunteers, supporters, and has had a profound impact on those with PD.  Stories have been shared, lives have been touched, and Kevin in all of his admirable bravery, has made each and every one of us grateful and proud of his hard work.

Laura Hanf
I would like to nominate my wife, Laura, as a Parkinson's Superstar. She has aggressively battled early onset Parkinson's (47 years old) for the last three years through hard work and a generally positive attitude.

Leonore Gordon
She is our encyclopedia, our google, our source of referrals, our publicist, our poet, our advocate and our friend.   She is smart, resourceful and indefatigable. She covers all grounds – from the political to the personal.

Lesley King
Lesley approached me about what she thought was a great need on our community, for a Parkinson’s disease support group.  This is a disease that Lesley is very passionate about and has spent a great number of education hours learning about this disease.

Linda Giorgilli
Her quest for the cure is truly sincere and from her heart. Her energy abounds and her advocacy continues to expand. People like her are far and few, but to know her is to love her for all that she has done and all that she will continue to do to raise awareness and help find a cure.
