Philadelphia, PA: CommUNITY: Carrying the PD Torch

Rocky Statue
Philadelphia, PA

Description: “CommUNITY: Carrying the PD Torch,” is a Teva-sponsored Parkinson’s disease (PD) awareness campaign being launched in April in partnership with the Parkinson’s Unity Walk (PUW), during Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month (PDAM). As part of the campaign, on April 2, Teva and the PUW are covering the Rocky Statue in Philadelphia, PA in tulips, the official symbol of PD, to draw attention to the significance of this disease and highlight the importance of uniting as a community to secure positive outcomes for PD patients. Media will be invited to cover the event and a video will accompany a multimedia news release (MNR) hosted on Multivu’s ARC platform, which will be distributed the day of the event. The tulips will then be brought to the Teva booth at the PUW in NYC on April 26, 2014 with tulips from the media event in Philadelphia. As mentioned, to further raise awareness about PDAM, attendees of the “CommUNITY: Carry the PD Torch” launch and the PUW are encouraged to upload photos onto Twitter and Instagram from the events using the tag, #PDCommUNITY.
